Succulent place settings

Succulent place settings
Tiny succulents in tiny glass jars painted in the bride’s color scheme make lovely, and easy, place settings for bridal showers. Use some double-stick tape to attach the printable flags to cake-pop sticks and place them in the pots with the succulents. Guests can also take them home as a sweet bridal shower memento. In addition to place settings and party favors, you can paint larger containers and create a succulent table centerpiece.

Directions

  1. Clean glass jars and dry thoroughly.

  2. Paint the insides of the jars with a coat of craft paint and let dry. Repeat with another coat of paint if needed and let dry overnight.

  3. Add a few river rocks to the bottom of the painted jars for drainage.

  4. Fill the jars halfway with potting mix. Remove your succulents from their original pots and separate them (if necessary) to fit your jars.

  5. Plant succulents in the jars and surround with additional potting mix. Keep them watered and happy in a sunny room until ready to use. (Succulents do not need frequent watering.)

  6. To make the plant flags, print the succulent flags template onto card stock (each page makes 4 flags, so print as many pages as you need). Cut out flags. Wrap each flag around a cake-pop stick and use double-stick tape to secure. Cut out "V" shapes from the ends of the flags (optional). Set aside.

  7. On the day of the shower, wipe off the outside of the jars and stick the plant flags in the soil of each jar.
