He is the God who sees and loves you
If we could get together, I would tell you that no matter your decision or how you move from this moment, that I am here for you and am praying for you. And I would tell you that He is the God Who Sees—and He sees and loves you, too.

If we could get together, I would sit with you. Maybe at that coffee shop with the comfy chairs over by the big window, or over lunch with notifications turned off so we wouldn’t be distracted. I would listen intently and empathize. I might even get tears in my eyes as you share because I’ve been there, too, and I remember. I remember what it feels like and how hard it is. I remember the questions in my heart that felt too big to mention aloud, so I would journal them, skirting around what was on my mind and not really asking what I wanted to ask.
And I would notice you not really asking what you want to ask right now. So I would simply listen, giving you space to let it all leak out of your eyes and bubble to the surface while you stumble over your words. And I wouldn’t judge you or criticize you, because of course I wouldn’t. And neither would He.
After you’ve exhausted yourself from sharing your experience, I would share my own, telling you about the times I shied away from Him or shook my fist and turned my back to Him. How sometimes I didn’t think I could trust Him or how, at times, I felt that it’d been too long and that, surely, He should’ve seen to it by now.
If we could get together, I would emphatically let you know you’re not alone in your questions, your frustrations or your doubts. I would tell you about the people in the Bible who poured out their hearts to Him and how He is big enough to handle it all.
I would do this because, at one point or another, someone reminded me of these things. And, to be honest, these are things I sometimes still need to remind myself. That, you don’t quench thirst with one trip to the faucet. You go back again and again and again, because thirst is continual. So, too, it goes with our soul—and He is always there to replenish.
If we could get together, I would tell you that even though I’m in a season where I feel a little bit worn, a little bit lost and a little bit discarded, I am directing my soul to take heart and meditate on truth. I would tell you that there are days when my feelings may say one thing, but most days my spirit says another. Most of the time I choose to believe in the truth, because God doesn’t lie. And I would encourage you to believe it, too.
If we could get together, I would remind us both that He sees. He sees you in your place of want and hurt and need and desperation. He sees you in your place of deep ache and broken dreams and misplaced desires. You may feel a little lost in life, but God has never lost sight of you. He’s watching, He’s loving, He’s reaching, He’s waiting.
If we could get together, I would tell you that no matter your decision or how you move from this moment, that I am here for you and am praying for you. And I would tell you that He is the God Who Sees—and He sees and loves you, too.
