24th anniversary gifts and ideas for spouses
What to give
- Have a photograph taken or find a favorite snapshot of the two of you and place it in an opal or opal-inspired frame.
- If you play an instrument, try your hand at writing them a love song! If you’re the type of couple who’s more into humor than romance, you could always make it a parody.
- Are they into nail art? Get them some cool, opalescent polish. More into board games? Gift them some opalescent dice!
- If they play an instrument, take them on a shopping trip to buy an upgrade and/or some new sheet music.
- Get straight to the meaning of the 24th anniversary with black opal jewelry, like a necklace, bracelet or ring. Cufflinks in black opal can also be just as stunning.
- Get them some really great seats to see a concert of their choosing.
What to write in a 24th anniversary card
- “After 24 years, our love is written in (precious) stone.”
- “I’m ready for our next adventures, and with who we are together, I know they’re right around the corner.”
- “24 hours a day for 24 years, you’ve been my number one. Yet when you smile, it still feels like time stops.”
What to write about in a 24th anniversary love letter
- Think of and write about what has made your love stronger over the years.
- Come up with an acrostic for “Twenty-Four.” An acrostic is a poem where each line starts with a particular letter to spell a word. Have fun with it! Other ideas are to spell their name, a nickname or the spot where you took your honeymoon. Possibilities are endless and remember: your acrostic doesn’t have to rhyme.
- Write about the importance they have in your life 24-hours a day. One way to approach this idea is to take active notes on the times of day you think of them, and what those thoughts are. If you have extra time on hand to finish your letter, do the exercise over several days and pick your favorites! By the way, dreams count…if you’d like to spice things up in your letter. 😉
How to celebrate
- Rent a pair of guitars—or whichever musical instruments interest you—from a music shop and spend a week or month (whatever your budget allows) learning how to play them together.
- Go on a fancy, romantic date that includes dinner and a night at the symphony or ballet. Any performance with live, instrumental music.
- Go on a thrift-store hunt for an opal ring or brooch.
- Search local events for jewelry making classes or demonstrations and celebrate the essence of your opal-themed 24th anniversary by attending.
24th anniversary gifts for friends and family
What to write
- Iridescent coasters made of actual opal or just crafted to look like opal. Either way, your gift will protect furniture and look great doing it.
- Pick out a coffee table book on precious stones. Be sure that opal is included so you can pen a special happy 24th anniversary message on that page.
- If possible, find sheet music for the first song they danced to as a wedded couple.
- OR if you play an instrument, send them an audio message or video of you playing their song!
What to write in a 24th anniversary card
- “May your next 24 years together shine just as beautifully as the first.”
- “You two make such a wonderful duet—so happy you found one another.”
- “Your love is an inspiration for the ages.”
