5th birthday cake ideas
- Cupcake time. Make cupcakes in the birthday kid’s favorite flavor and arrange them to make a number five.
- Build a castle. If you’re feeling bold, make multiple cakes and put them together to make a castle. This could even be a fun activity for you and the birthday kid to work on together, if they like to help in the kitchen!
- Photo cake. Get a drawing they made or a photo of them frosting-printed onto a store-bought or homemade cake.
- Party theme cake. When in doubt, just go with the theme of the party. The cake can just be one more element to bring the theme to life!
5th birthday food ideas
- Let breakfast rule 🧇 🥞 🍳 Bacon, sausage, pancakes and waffles with fancy toppings, and anything else that the birthday kid likes to eat first thing in the morning.
- Personalized pizzas 🍕 Make or buy individual pizza dough rounds and let everyone make their own! This can be a fun party activity; bake them while opening presents or playing a game.
- Get it poppin’ 🍿 Put together a popcorn bar with lots of fun toppings and mix-ins that each guest can make for themselves.
- Fruit explosion 🍒 Buy a few different kinds of fruit and make fruit skewers. Parents will thank you for including some healthy food, but you can always sneak in a couple of mini marshmallows to keep any sweet-lovers happy.
- Give in to the kid food 🌭 😋 Lay out a buffet of chicken nuggets, hot dogs, pizza bites or anything else the kid in your life will love.
