I don’t know a person on this earth who doesn’t love a good semi-annual sale. In fact, I know several people who keep the semi-annual sale dates of their favorite brands on their personal calendars. And now, they can add Hallmark to that list!
That’s right—from January 15–31, 2026, Hallmark is having their first-ever Semi-Annual Sale, where you can buy one Hallmark card and get another Hallmark card 50% off.
So, how do you make the most of this epic sale? Oh, I have tips. 🤩 Let’s dive in!

Tip #1: Get out your calendar
The first Semi-Annual Sale being in January is amazing timing. It allows you to start at the beginning of the year and think about who you’ll be celebrating. So, get out your phone—or if you’re old school like me, your planner or trusty calendar—and make a list of the following card-sending occasions for the next 6 months:
- Any and all birthdays, especially milestone birthdays like Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Quinceañeras and birthdays that end in 0. 🎉
- Anniversaries for special couples in your life…including yours! 💕
- Due dates for new babies you know about. 🍼
- Graduations from high school, college, tech or professional schools. 🎓
- Weddings you’ve received invites for. 💍
- Big holidays like Valentine’s Day, Chinese New Year, Easter, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. 🥳
Then all you have to do is make sure you shop for them at the sale! It’ll save you time and money later.
Tip #2: Think about in-between times
Of course, you won’t find every card-sending occasion on a calendar. Cards are one of those rare things that make sense and are appreciated anywhere in the flow of life. (That’s what’s so cool about them.) Think about those days and occasions in between the special days that you might want a good card ready and waiting. For instance:
- Retirement after a long career 🫡
- Engagements you don’t know about yet…but have a sneaking suspicion could happen soon 😏
- Encouragement during a tough time 🫶
- Congratulations on a new job, new home…new anything! 🤩
- Get well or thinking of you cards for chronic illness or diagnosis ❤️🩹
There’s no better time than a Semi-Annual Sale to stock up! Especially if “connecting more” is on your list of goals for this year.
Tip #3: Make a note to cruise the “fancy” cards
You know the ones I’m talking about—the ones that you only save for really special occasions or people. The ones with dimensional papercraft or pop-up features. Or the ones with embellishments like gems or detachable gifts and ornaments. During the Semi-Annual Sale, you can really save on these spectacular cards!
- Hallmark Signature cards: Elegant and highly detailed, these cards feature simple statements inside. You know, so as not to feel too over the top. 😉
- Hallmark Paper Wonder cards: Pop-up sand papercraft galore! Some play music. Some spin. ALL of them have serious wow factor.
- Jumbo cards: These are for when a regular-sized card won’t do! Need space for 50 people to sign a card? Need to tell them thanks for going above and beyond? Need to make their upcoming 30th birthday card memorable in a BIG way? Enter: Jumbo cards.
- Any card with “extras”: Those cards with music, sound, lights and special effects like shakable glitter or swirling snow are the most fun to give because they make people’s faces light up. And right now? They’re buy one, get one 50% off. Which will make your face light up. 😁
Tip #4: Shop with your eyes
If you’ve ever thought a card was really pretty, but you put it back because it wasn’t what you were shopping for just then or because you didn’t know who you’d send it to…this is your timeeeeee. ✨
You have great taste…go ahead and indulge in it during the Semi-Annual Sale. I promise, one day, you will find exactly the right person or situation for that pretty card. My card stash proves this out time and time again.
Tip #5: Shop with your heart
Finally, go ahead and put those cards that say all the things in your heart in your physical or digital shopping basket.
Whether you’re waiting for a day you feel brave, waiting for a hard time to pass, or waiting for them to make that big accomplishment a done deal, it’ll be great to have a card that says exactly what you feel.
And it’ll be that much sweeter to have that card already in hand. 🥰
I hope these tips help you get soooooo much savings out of Hallmark’s Semi-Annual Sale. And maybe help you brighten a few more days this year while you’re at it!
