A Sweet and Easy Way to Wrap Cookies for Christmas

Bakers gonna bake, y’all. And if you’re one of them, you already know homemade Christmas cookies are the best gifts you can give or receive. A pile of cookies or a plateful of brownies is perfect for party favors or presents for guests, co-workers, neighbors—basically anyone with a sweet tooth.
And sure, you can present holiday treats in a box or on a cellophane-wrapped holiday plate, but we wanted something a little more festive, functional and flexible. We’ll show you how to wrap cookies for Christmas no matter how many or what size you’re giving—and best of all, this sweet, simple, candy-inspired wrap uses supplies you may already have handy.

Here are the basic instructions for this easy Christmas cookie wrap. You can use any size plate and wrapping paper and ribbon in any color and make the twisty ends shorter or longer.
Pro tip: If you’re making multiples, try one first, then use that as a template to pre-cut the tissue paper, ribbon and washi tape.
What you’ll need:
• Christmas cookies, bars or candy
• 2 round paper plates for each gift (whatever size fits your sweets)
• Washi tape
• Tissue paper
• Curling ribbon
• Scissors
Stack two sheets of tissue paper together, smooth them out and cut into a square about two and a half times as wide as your plate. Using two sheets makes your result a little bit stronger—you can also use a sheet or two of regular tissue paper and one sheet of cellophane wrap.
Set a paper plate in the middle of your tissue square. (If you’re planning to stack your wrapped cookies, they’re extra heavy or they’ve got a journey to make, you can double up on the plates.)
Place your treats on the plate. The amount will vary depending on the size of the sweets and the plates—you want the plate to be full, but not piled high.
Cover the cookies with a second plate, flipped upside down. (If the edges of the plates don’t touch, you have too many treats.)
Use the washi tape to attach the edges of the plates in at least three places.
Fold the top portion of the tissue paper over the plates and secure with tape. Repeat with the bottom portion.
On one side, gather the tissue closest to the plate so the ends are still puffed out.
Tie it with a ribbon, then repeat on the other side.
Use the edge of a scissor blade to curl the ribbon on both sides.
