Krumkake Recipe

This Norwegian Christmas treat will delight all your guests. Krumkakes are very sweet wafers cooked on a special iron on the stove and quickly rolled into cylinders. They are filled with sweetened whipped cream right before they are served. This Krumkake recipe requires a few simple ingredients, a krumkake iron and some quick fingers!

Yield: 2 dozen krumkakes

6 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1½ cups flour
½ tsp. ground cardamom
Sweetened whipped cream for serving (optional)


  1. Heat up krumkake iron on stove over medium heat.
  2. Mix first 5 ingredients together and pour batter onto iron. Press the top of the iron down over the batter until browned (flipping the iron in process.)
  3. Remove from iron and quickly roll into a cone shape.
  4. Let cool until hardened. Fill with sweetened whipped cream before serving (optional).
