French 75 recipe

If you love bubbly, like really, really love it, add this French 75 recipe to your cocktail lineup. This recipe is for a single French 75 cocktail, but you can easily multiply it and serve it in a pitcher for parties. It features gin, fresh-squeezed lemon juice and simple syrup topped with champagne or a sparkling white wine. Serve this bubbly cocktail at your next gathering to shake up some fun.

Ingredients

1 oz. gin
½ oz. simple syrup
½ oz. fresh-squeezed lemon juice
Brut Champagne or a dry sparkling white wine
Lemon twist, to garnish

For the simple syrup recipe

1 cup white sugar
1 cup water

Directions

  1. Combine gin, syrup and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a champagne glass.
  2. Top with Champagne.
  3. Garnish with a lemon twist.

For the simple syrup recipe

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and water.
  2. Bring to a boil, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool.

Tip: For a not-as-simple syrup, try adding a sprig of fresh herbs, like rosemary or mint, during the cooking and then strain them out before using.
