Oh, spring, we’ve missed you most of all. We don’t even care that you bring showers—we’re just excited to be outside again. There’s lots more to be happy about in April, too, so it’s time to turn the calendar page (or click the little arrow on your screen) and start thinking about what and who we’re celebrating this month.

Haiku Poetry Day
- Haiku poems originated in Japan. In English, the format is three lines and 17 syllables long: First line is five syllables, then seven, then five. No rhyming necessary. Haiku traditionally are about nature or seasons—they’re written in present tense and capture a moment.
- For fun, write some haiku of your own today: Write in your journal, send some to a friend or, for extra fun, send all your work emails haiku-style. (It’s fun. We’ve tried it.)
