How to make a DIY butterfly cake topper
What you’ll need:
- Butterfly wrapping paper
- Card stock
- Hot glue or tape
- Glue stick
- Craft knife or scissors
- Wood skewers
- Cake stand
- Optional: Meringues, flowers and edible pearls
Instructions:
1. First, cut a piece of your butterfly gift wrap that’s the same dimensions as your card stock. Glue the wrap to the card stock with a glue stick.
2. Cut out the butterflies you’re loving most, then use a craft knife to help carve out the antennae. Attach skewers to the card stock side with a dot of hot glue or a piece of tape.
3. Once you’ve got a few butterflies cut out, start placing them in the cake. For an effortless garden vibe, we placed our butterflies randomly.
4. To complete the look and really capture that magical feel, add meringues, flowers and edible pearls. Place it on a cute cake stand and watch everybody ooh and ahh over how gorgeous it is!
