Free relationship conversation cards to stir up all the feels
Having positive, meaningful conversations is one of the best things about the relationships in our lives. Whether it’s a romantic or life partner, a parent, a BFF or a kid growing into their own, these kinds of constructive, emotional conversations always make us feel energized and in love with the world.
And we started thinking: Wouldn’t it be great if you could just make those happen whenever you wanted?
So we got our incredibly empathetic writer, Tamia M., to come up with the most soul-stirring, heart-swelling relationship questions she could think of. (Spoiler alert: She crushed it.)

Who are these relationship conversation cards for?
Literally everyone. They’d make great couples conversation cards, but they’re honestly great for any relationship or any time you’d like to have an uplifting, self-affirming conversation with someone, but you don’t know how or where to start.

What are some good times to use the relationship conversation cards?
Ohh, we love this question. Because we have ALL the ideas. You could use them:
- On Valentine’s Day. We made them part of our article on Valentine’s Day Party Ideas, because they’d be SO GOOD at a Galentine’s or Palentine’s Day celebration.
- On Mother’s Day or Father’s Day. Bring them to brunch with Mom or Dad’s shindig and make the conversation part of their special day. They will LOVE it.
- At your BFF’s birthday. Make the get-together that much more amazing by starting a memorable, uplifting conversation for everyone there. You’ll all feel so much closer afterward!
- On a girls’ night or weekend. There’s already something magical about being surrounded by the ladies you can always count on. Take it a step further with these conversation cards while you’re enjoying drinks, getting pedicures, on a nature hike, or hanging by the pool.
- To get to know your teen. We all know teens aren’t terribly forthcoming about details, especially when it comes to feelings (so. many.) and especially when it comes to their parents. Try catching your teen in a good mood and suggesting these cards as a fun way to get to know each other better as adults. Promise to answer the questions as honestly as they do, even if it feels weird. This is a whole new ballgame for both of you!
- On your wedding or dating anniversary. When you’ve been together for a while, it’s easy to forget the things that make your relationship special or take for granted the way your partner feels about any number of things. These relationship conversation cards are a great way to help you both feel heard and add another layer of meaning to your milestone celebration.
We hope you enjoy using these relationship conversation cards as much as we enjoyed making them. Tag us on social media using @hallmark to show us how you’re making them part of your celebrations.
